• Do not build Sentryguns above the spawn-area with a direct line of sight to the main exit of the enemy team, unless the exit is outside the auto-firing range.
It would be much easier to understand, but on the downside it would disallow you to build sentries above your own spawn (and shoot down with the wrangler).
Can I get some input (especially from Trade-regulars) on that?
That would be absolutely great and simplify the life of #25 by alot! Sentries on the ledge are the one thing causing alot of anger in other players, even when they are not able to shoot down.
For some people I believe this isnt an issue, but as we all know most of the playerbase is rather unexperienced skillwise and I've seen them struggling with stickies. And it's generally annoying too, specially because the demo is usually being pocketed.
By the way I'll let this discussion (and the poll) run until tomorrow evening. (Or longer until @Da Random sees this too, since he is not listed yet)
Any objections?
Yea I don't know what trade looks like so this doesn't make sense to me. Why is it not enough to forbid them above enemy spawn? Because you can also have the Sentry shoot into the enemy spawn from your own spawn? Then I have to ask why you said it was a downside that you can't put them above your own spawn either.
Here is a pic of the area in question, "above spawn" is the area above the "neonheights trade" sign.
If you build a sentry on your own side, you can (most times) still reach the enemies with it.
It would be nice if you could just have the sentries placed above your own spawn without problem, but since people never listen, I guess it's fine by me. It would just make it easier to administrate in general so, why not?
Umm, about stickycamping the main exit doors, maybe we could add the plugin that destroy stickies put too close to them or inside spawn, like on our DUEL server? We could leave it without a rule and just let the plugin work
